🎬 Story idea: The Secret of the Golden Sweet Main characters * Ava – a curious 9-year-old girl * Baran – her funny younger brother * Grandmother Nishtiman – knows the old Kurdish stories about the sweet * Manno – a tiny magical forest character who guides the children Story Ava and Baran visit their grandmother in the mountains near Sulaymaniyah. She gives them a small piece of traditional Gaz Alafi, and tells them that it comes from an ancient oak-forest tradition. The real Gaz Alafi studied in the scientific paper comes from secretions associated with oak forests in northern Iraq and western Iran. That night, the children hear a tiny voice coming from the old wooden box where the Gaz is kept. They follow the voice into the forest and discover Manno, a little guardian of the oak trees. Manno tells them that the forest is losing its traditional knowledge because people are forgetting the story of the sweet. The children go on a journey through the forest, meeting talking animals and solving simple puzzles about: 🌳 oak trees 🐝 insects and nature 🍯 traditional foods 👵 Kurdish traditions 🤝 sharing and helping others At the end, they return home and organize a small celebration where the grandmother teaches the village children how Gaz Alafi is traditionally collected and prepared. Message: Our traditions are treasures—but they become truly valuable when we learn about them, protect nature, and share them with the next generation. And importantly, I would not tell children in the film that Gaz Alafi cures cancer. The scientific study found interesting anticancer effects in laboratory and mouse experiments, but it did not establish that eating the sweet treats cancer in children or adults.
