THE GIRL WHO WAS NEVER ASHAMED OF HER PARENTS’ OCCUPATION
PART ONE — Amara’s Home
Amara is a bright young African girl who lives with her hardworking parents.
Her mother sells cooked food by the roadside, while her father is a carpenter who spends his days making furniture.
Amara loves and respects her parents. One day at school, some classmates ask her what her parents do for a living. Amara proudly tells them.
Some children laugh at her because her mother sells food and her father is a carpenter.
Instead of feeling ashamed, Amara calmly says:
“There is nothing shameful about honest work. My parents work hard to take care of me, and I am proud of them.”
🎓 MORAL LESSON:
Never be ashamed of your parents or their honest work. Every honest occupation deserves respect.
